Windsor Castle

The original castle was built in the 11th century after the Norman invasion of England by William the Conqueror. Since the time of Henry I, it has been used by the reigning king or queen and is the longest-occupied palace in Europe. St George’s Hall is the biggest room in the Castle. It is 55.5m long and 9m wide and can seat up to 162 for a State Banquet.

Isle of Wight

The largest island in England, the Isle of Wight is located off the South coast of Hampshire. It is the site of the first radio station, set up by Marconi in 1897. The service between the island and the mainland is the only remaining public hovercraft service in the world. It measures 22.5 miles (36 km) from East to West.

The London Eye

It is Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel, and is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over 3 million visitors annually. Each of its 32 pods takes up to 25 people, rotating at 26cm per second. It is 135m tall and 120 in diameter. Each revolution takes 30 minutes.

Adventurers

A huge conservation project, there are two biomes one of which houses Mediterranean plant-life and the other houses the largest indoor rainforest over 3.9 acres!

Create a journal for 7 days during the challenge period based on the first days of the world - the 6 days of Creation and the first Sabbath. Draw examples or cut out and glue in pictures from magazines of items created on each day and write out the verses somewhere on the page. Use bright colours (crayons, pencils, watercolours, mosaic style, etc.) to make it as colourful as possible. For day 6, you can include a photo/drawing of you and your family to remind you that you are a very important part of God's creation too! Don't forget that God created the Sabbath day on the 7th day. The code-breakers who worked in complete secrecy at Bletchley Park during world war II created the Colussus, the world's first programmable digital electric computer. The Jusassic Coast in SE England is a UNESCO World Heritage site and many hundreds of fossils have been found along its shores.

The home of what is now known as Universal Time (Greenwich Mean Time) and the Prime Meridian (the basis of longitude), whereby all nations use it as their standard for time-keeping and mapping.

Oxford operates the world's oldest university museum, as well as the largest university press in the world and the largest academic library system nationwide. William Tyndale is a famous alumnus of Oxford University.

William Tyndale was a famous reformist who translated the Bible into English for everyone to read.

What are your talents and how can you use them to serve God? Think of something you are very good at (your parents will be able to guide you if you can't think of something) and do something creative with that talent to make someone's day better. It could be drawing a picture to send to a shut-in church member, or calling up your grandmother to sing her a song, or even baking something to share with a neighbour.

Pathfinders:
Read a book written by author C.S.Lewis (try one of the Chronicles of Narnia) and write a review for submission to your club leader for checking OR design your ideal church. Write out your favourite Bible chapters in seven other languages. Decorate each one and share the chapters with a classmate or neighbour who speaks that language. e.g. you could copy out a Psalm in Portuguese and decorate in watercolours to share with a Brazilian classmate. Or write a card and include your favourite chapter in Tagalog and give the card to a Filipino family living nearby.
